Running along the south side of the River Thames, with its cobbled streets, is Shad Thames, also known as Butlers Wharf. The former warehouses in the area were used to house tea, coffee and spices evidence of long and far conquests. The area benefited from huge regeneration in the 1980s and 1990s transforming buildings into multi million pound apartments with breath taking views. More so, cooking at home has become distant memory for those with busy lives, with restaurants, bars and shops on their doorstep. Residences such as Vanilla & Sesame Court, Tea Wharf and Wheat Wharf, named after the commodities housed within them, are exceptionally stunning retaining original features reflecting its past history.
