Lying to the north of the city is Shoreditch. Well known for the St Leonard’s Parish Church, the area also played host to Shakespeare’s productions in the famous Curtain Theatre located on Curtain Road. The establishment of the textile trade was catalyzed by wealthy traders and silk weavers, which moved into the locality in the 17th century. Today the area is a vibrant mix of different cultures, communities and faiths combined with the hustle and bustle on the Kingsland Road and Shoreditch High Street.  The area has become immensely popular with web-based businesses choosing to locate near to Old Street, slowly becoming London’s answer to Silicon Valley
